Agile Beer Night is May 27 2010

Please join us for Agile Beer Night, this coming Thursday May 27 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at Daman's Bar and Grill in Redmond (Bellevue) on 148th Ave just south of the 520 on-ramp. We'll have some great conversations, good food, and some BEER! This month's topic is Agile Adoption. We'll be sharing our experiences with adopting Agile methodologies in organizations, successes, failures, and otherwise. Please bring your tips, tools, and techniques for introducing Agile methodologies to your teams.

PS This event now has a new time - it is going to be starting a bit later: 5:30PM since folks had a hard time making it by 5PM. Happy Hour only runs until 6PM though, so get your orders in by 6 for a good deal!

This month and next month are going to be pretty busy for folks with the holiday season already upon us. We are going to move the November ABN to the Dec. 3 this year, and combine the November and December beer nights to one night.

OK, I got your attention didn't I... well there's not really free beer... but there IS a good opportunity for networking, socializing, good company, and some brilliant Agile Minds who meet for a couple hours over a beer or two... This event is a great way to meet people, find out about the Agile community in Seattle and the East Side, and discuss Agile software development. Whether you are an expert, a novice, or just want to find out more about Agile... this is the place to be!

Lots of folks can't get off at 5, and show up a little later. Happy Hour is from 5:00 to 5:30, so it just makes it a little cheaper to get beer and appetizers if you can show up early. If not then we're happy to see you whenever you can drop in.

February Agile Beer Night at Celtic Bayou in Redmond

Please join us in February on the 26th at the Celtic Bayou pub in Redmond for some beer, some conversations about Agile Software Development, and some networking with other folks in the area who do Agile. This month we're at the Celtic Bayou rather than Daman's Pub, because the bayou is at the 545 bus stop to make it easy for Seattle folks to make it over. It's 5 to 7PM, and happy hour ends at 5:30.

This pub is literally AT the ST545 bus stop for those of you commuting in from the West side... It's ideal - just hop on the bus, you're there in 30 minutes, have a few pints, and jump on the 545 back to Seattle. You should be sobered up enough to drive by the time you get back...

Great Meeting in January!

We had a great turnout in Seattle, thanks to the Atlas team and a few others. Thanks all who were able to make it to the Owl.

Great Meeting!

Wow we had such a great meeting this evening. Had a fair turnout, but it's quality not quantity right? Lots of great conversations about many topics - Agile, Languages, Tools, and of course Advertising!

I created a mailing list for those who wish to be involved, it's on the blurb on the right column. Please subscribe!

I will be sending out only two mails a month, one a week before the meeting, and one the day before, just to remind folks and let everyone know what's coming up at the monthly meeting. No spam, I promise.

There were some complaints about Tuesdays, so from now on the meetings will be the last Thursday of the month, with the exception of November and December, since those are the holidays. The next meeting will be the week before Thanksgiving, Thursday November 20 at 5PM at Daman's Pub. The link is on the right for directions. The December meeting will be on December 18. I will post reminders periodically. Put it on your calendars, and plan ahead today!

BTW if there are any suggestions for speakers, topics, or the like, please feel free to post them or send them to the mailing list.

Octobeer - Agile Beer Night

Well folks, dang - it's already halfway through October and I haven't scheduled October's Agile Beer Night yet!

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it all the way over to Seattle this month, so the October Agile Beer Night will be at 5PM on October 28 at Daman's Pub in Redmond.

Daman's Pub is on 148th Ave NE, just south of the 520 freeway on-ramp on the East side of the street. It's a nice place and hopefully a little kinder to multiple-check parties than the last joint... They have great food and of course... BEER! Be there before 5:30 to take advantage of the happy hour discounts on drinks and food. Menus and beers on tap are listed on their web site.

So BOO and Happy Octobeer!

Agile Beer Night

We the practitioners of Agile and users of Beer, hereby proclaim Agile Beer Night.

The Agile Beer Users Group (Seattle Chapter) will be meeting on Thursday Aug 21, for information sharing, networking, agile discussions, a brief topic presentation on Automated Acceptance Testing, oh - and BEER. Come meet us for a discussion and brief presentation on Agile practices each month.

There is good food, good beer, and a good chance to meet some of the folks who do agile development in the Pacific Northwest, get to know their tricks, and share in their success. The Owl has a fine selection of food, drinks, and spirits for those who choose them.

ABN next meeting will be held in Seattle at the Owl and Thistle Irish Pub and Restaurant at 808 Post Avenue in downtown Seattle from 5PM to 8PM on Thursday August 21 2008.

The September ABN meeting will be on the East side in Redmond or Bellevue, but plans are not firm yet - stay tuned...
