Agile Beer Night is this Thursday, Feb 25 at Daman’s Pub in Redmond. This month’s topic is Test Driven Development… Do you use TDD? What kind of tests do you write? Unit tests? Acceptance tests? Please come to share your experience, and learn from others. Anyone wanting to do some hands-on real TDD, and see it in action, please drop by!

Please come socialize with us if you can, for networking, sharing agile experiences, and of course BEER!

This month and next month are going to be pretty busy for folks with the holiday season already upon us. We are going to move the November ABN to the Dec. 3 this year, and combine the November and December beer nights to one night.

This month's (optional) theme is Agile Adoption. Bring your experiences (good or bad) with adoption of agile in your course of agile practice. What worked? What didn't? What were the reasons things worked or didn't? This is a large area of debate, so let's benefit from each others' experiences.

Please join us at Daman's Pub for Agile Beer Night! That's Pour, Drink, Refactor (for those of you unfamiliar with the practice...) from 5 to 7pm. Show up any time, but happy hour goes only until 5:30PM.

Patterns in software are valuable for a number of reasons, but chief among them is that they help keep code quality high, and allow systems to change without excessive risk and cost. Test-Driven Development is also valuable in many ways, including these same issues. That leads one to ask: if TDD and patterns deliver similar value, is there even more value to be found in using them together? Can tests lead us to patterns? Can patterns lead us to better tests? This seminar will examine these issues and show how learning both patterns and TDD enhances the value of both disciplines.

Our next Agile Beer Night is coming up in less than two weeks... Thursday October 29 is our next meeting at Daman's Pub from around 5 to 7PM. Come by early, the first pitcher is always on me!

This month our (optional) theme will be Collaboration Tools. Please come by with suggestions, experiences, and your own list of tools that help you and your team collaborate, contribute, and conquer. These can be anything that helps develop/test code, or just manage projects, people, time, information, etc. If you use it, and it works, please come share it with the group so we can all benefit from each others' experiences.

ABN: June 25, 5PM to 7PM at Daman's Pub in Redmond

OK, I got your attention didn't I... well there's not really free beer... but there IS a good opportunity for networking, socializing, good company, and some brilliant Agile Minds who meet for a couple hours over a beer or two... This event is a great way to meet people, find out about the Agile community in Seattle and the East Side, and discuss Agile software development. Whether you are an expert, a novice, or just want to find out more about Agile... this is the place to be!

Lots of folks can't get off at 5, and show up a little later. Happy Hour is from 5:00 to 5:30, so it just makes it a little cheaper to get beer and appetizers if you can show up early. If not then we're happy to see you whenever you can drop in.

Some of the brightest Agile minds and practitioners in the area come to this monthly event, so please join us and collaborate!
